Image of Susan TaylorMrs. Taylor started her career with College Health Enterprises in 2005. She was appointed Chief Executive Officer of College Hospital Costa Mesa in July of 2010.

Mrs. Taylor received her law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is licensed to practice law in the State of California and the State of Nevada. She has been admitted to the Federal and State Courts in both California and Nevada.

Prior to her employment with College Health Enterprises, Mrs. Taylor was an associate with a medical malpractice defense firm in Costa Mesa, California. Mrs. Taylor has represented numerous healthcare providers in litigation involving medical malpractice, elder abuse, personal injury, breach of contract, premises liability and insurance bad faith.

Prior to being appointed Chief Executive Officer of College Hospital Costa Mesa, Mrs. Taylor served as General Counsel for College Health Enterprises. In this capacity, Mrs. Taylor was responsible for advising on the risk associated with the company’s facilities; both from a liability and financial standpoint. She was also responsible for ensuring that all of the company’s facilities were compliant with all State and Federal regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and all Corporate Compliance regulations.

Ms. Taylor has also served as Vice President of Managed Care for College Health Enterprises. In this capacity, Mrs. Taylor was responsible for negotiation and contract management with regard to numerous health plans (i.e., Blue Cross, Blue Shield) that maintain Service Provider Agreements with the facilities of College Health Enterprises. She was also responsible for resolving conflicts between payors and providers, along with maintaining excellent relationships with the health plans that we contract with. Mrs. Taylor was responsible for a percentage of the combined gross revenue at College Hospital(s). Managed Care payor sources include major medical health plans, behavioral health carve-outs, medical groups and ancillary providers. Additional managed care duties included all aspects of contracting and pre-contractual review process, implementation, network development, maintenance, problem resolution, account management, credentialing applications, specials projects, new business opportunities, and communication to assure smooth operations and contract compliance issues at all of the company’s facilities.

Mrs. Taylor is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM), Healthcare Finance Management Association (HFMA), Northern Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Nevada Bar Association and the California Bar Association.
